The Discomfort and Hope in Letting Go

Have you ever sat in the space between the old and the new?

When your old life doesn’t fit anymore, and you’ve realised what does not align with who you are or what you want now.

Typically, when we have reached this space; we have often exhausted every possibility to ‘make things work,’ to make tweaks, adjustments or significant shifts.

When these don’t work AND we have the data to back this up; we can sometimes have to figure out whether it’s a case of ‘try one more time’ vs. ‘this just isn’t for me.’

This can apply to relationships, jobs, and other significant life arenas.

Sometimes, we wrap our identities around particular pillars that aren’t working, or are no longer aligned with who are now.

This doesn’t mean that we have to let go of everyone and everything: It means acknowledging when the season for something in our life may be coming to an end.

This is where we can enter a strange void between the old and the new: The old isn’t completely gone yet, and the new has not yet manifested.

We can feel grief. We can feel scared. We can feel lost. All of this can be valid, and it is important that we hold the other end of the spectrum: Hope. Curiosity. Possibility.

This is an opportunity of sacred time to realign your life. To integrate the lessons. To review your past. To contemplate what you want and need now.

This is an opportunity: Remember to hold the hope with what you are creating, and where you are going now.
